Laboratory Technician

About the role

The Laboratory Technician will work full‑time on‑site at Heritage Hospital in Varanasi, performing routine and specialized diagnostic tests. The role supports clinicians by delivering accurate, timely results while maintaining high standards of safety and quality in the laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patient samples and label them according to protocol.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain a range of laboratory equipment.
• Document test results and ensure proper data entry into the laboratory information system.
• Perform quality control checks and adhere to safety and infection‑control procedures.
• Organize workspaces, store specimens correctly, and manage reagent inventory.
• Assist clinicians with test interpretation and timely reporting.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and perform basic repairs.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control and proper handling of biological samples.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to work accurately under time constraints.
• Effective communication skills and teamwork orientation.
• Prior experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory is preferred, though motivated early‑career candidates are welcome.
