Laboratory Operations Manager (Medical Doctor)

About the role

This position leads laboratory operations across multiple centres, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic services and seamless workflow. The role bridges clinical teams, laboratory staff and management to maintain compliance, accuracy and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations across assigned centres, ensuring smooth workflow, adherence to SOPs and timely delivery of accurate reports.
• Supervise lab managers, cluster heads and technicians to maintain operational efficiency, staff productivity and quality standards.
• Review quality control reports (IQC/EQC), identify deviations and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Act as liaison between clinicians, heads of departments and laboratory teams to address queries and support result interpretation.
• Conduct regular site visits, performance evaluations, process audits and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure timely follow‑up on operational challenges, quality issues and escalations.
• Drive standardisation of processes across centres, focusing on compliance (NABL/ISO) and patient safety.
• Support training initiatives to enhance technical competency and protocol adherence.
• Frequent travel across locations for monitoring, audits and coordination activities.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and diagnostics.
• Leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Knowledge of quality standards such as NABL and ISO.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
