Lab Technician

About the role

GeneDx is seeking an entry‑level Lab Technician to join the OneLab team. You will work with clinical DNA specimens to support genetic disease diagnosis, using both manual and automated laboratory methods in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, record‑keeping, and result reporting.
• Adhere to quality‑control policies, documenting instrument calibrations, reagent preparation, and maintenance activities.
• Identify and address problems that affect test performance, taking authorized corrective actions and notifying supervisors.
• Document proficiency testing to ensure it mirrors patient testing procedures.
• Maintain high accuracy while meeting or exceeding workload targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, laboratory science, chemistry, physics, or biological sciences.
• Meets CLIA, CAP, and New York State CLEP personnel standards.
• Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Professional‑level mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills.
