Kitchen Staff

About the role

The Kitchen Staff member will prepare breakfast and lunch items, support catering events, and work across all stations in the kitchen. This position ensures food is served safely, on time, and presented attractively.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain serving lines, keeping food at required temperatures.
• Prepare menu items according to Opaa! recipes, including baked goods and batch‑cooked dishes.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders and other kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, cafeteria, equipment, and dishwashing area.
• Manage inventory using FIFO procedures and keep storage areas organized.
• Record temperatures, complete HACCP logs, and follow HHFKA and CACFP meal patterns.
• Assist with requisitioning supplies and restocking serving stations.
• Participate in safety programs, meetings and required training.

• Ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety regulations.
• Attention to detail for temperature control and accurate production records.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.

Required skills

• Operation of slicers, mixers, grinders and related kitchen equipment.
• Food safety compliance (HACCP, HHFKA, CACFP).
• Temperature monitoring and logging.
• Inventory management using FIFO principles.
• Recipe preparation, conversion and batch cooking.
