Kindergarten Teacher Assistant

About the role

The Kindergarten Teacher Assistant supports the lead teacher in delivering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with lesson implementation, classroom management, and individualized support to promote each child’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction by helping implement daily lesson plans, learning activities, and educational games aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Supervise and engage children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, and outdoor periods to ensure safety and positive behavior.
• Assist with behavior management by reinforcing classroom rules and guiding social‑emotional development.
• Prepare and organize learning materials, resources, and displays to facilitate hands‑on learning.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, including sanitizing toys, surfaces, and equipment.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support for children needing extra assistance or emotional guidance.
• Observe children’s development and communicate observations or concerns to the lead teacher.
• Help children with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals, and rest time.
• Model respectful and inclusive behavior to foster a positive classroom culture.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher and other staff to ensure consistent teaching practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a TKT training course.
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, strong communication, teamwork, observation, creativity, organization, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
