Key Account Manager – Modern Trade & Regional Chains

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Key Account Manager to lead our Modern Trade and Regional Chain business across Chennai and Kochi. You will be responsible for driving sales growth, enhancing store‑level execution and expanding our footprint in standalone modern trade outlets and regional retail groups.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow key accounts in standalone modern trade stores and regional chains such as Lulu and other regional supermarkets.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets while ensuring consistent year‑on‑year growth.
• Ensure strong in‑store visibility, merchandising and promotions, monitoring performance and availability.
• Plan and optimise store‑wise SKU assortment based on local demand, addressing slow‑moving inventory.
• Identify and onboard new standalone MT stores and expand coverage within existing chains.
• Handle account‑level commercial negotiations, discounts, schemes and maintain margin control.
• Coordinate inventory and supply with SCM and warehouse teams to avoid stock‑outs or overstocking.
• Track KPIs such as sales, productivity per store, SKU performance and inventory turns, driving corrective actions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of standalone modern trade and regional retail dynamics.
• Ability to manage multiple high‑potential accounts with a store‑level impact mindset.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities.
• Analytical mindset for sales and SKU performance tracking.
