Key Account Manager – Business Development

About the role

The Business Development Manager – Global Wholesale Voice will drive new carrier and operator relationships for Airtel across international markets. This senior, hunter‑type role focuses on acquiring strategic accounts, negotiating commercial agreements and converting them into live traffic that generates profitable revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and acquire new wholesale voice customers, including carriers, mobile operators and international hubs.
• Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation, contracting, onboarding and hand‑over to operations.
• Negotiate rate agreements, interconnect terms and commercial swaps to maximise revenue and margin.
• Own the P&L of each account, driving revenue growth across voice, SMS hub and ITFS solutions.
• Collaborate with routing, pricing, finance and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing traffic delivery.
• Monitor market intelligence, competitor pricing and develop strategic pricing proposals.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience in telecom wholesale voice sales.
• Strong track record of generating new business and managing high‑value carrier relationships.
• Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen with ability to structure complex agreements.
• Ability to manage account P&L and drive revenue targets.
• Effective communication and coordination with cross‑functional teams.
