IVF Nurse

About the role

The IVF Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing in‑vitro fertilisation and related fertility treatments. Working closely with fertility specialists, the nurse ensures safe medication administration, patient education, and emotional support throughout the treatment cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care and support to patients during IVF and fertility procedures.
• Assist fertility specialists during consultations, oocyte retrieval, embryo transfer, and other procedures.
• Educate patients on IVF protocols, medication schedules, investigations, and follow‑up visits.
• Administer prescribed medications and injections, monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Coordinate follicular monitoring, scans, blood tests, and related procedures.
• Prepare patients for oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer, ensuring equipment readiness.
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment charts, medication logs, and procedural documentation.
• Collaborate with embryology, laboratory, pharmacy, and medical teams to streamline workflow.
• Provide emotional reassurance and confidentiality handling of sensitive fertility information.
• Follow infection control, biomedical waste, and hospital safety protocols.

Required profile

• GNM, B.Sc. Nursing or Post‑Basic B.Sc. Nursing qualification.
• Valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council.
• 1–3 years of nursing experience preferred; experience in IVF, fertility, OBG or reproductive medicine is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with strong interest in IVF nursing may also be considered.
