IT Consultant – Office Support (Agra)

About the role

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking an IT Consultant to provide day‑to‑day technical support for its offices in Agra, India. The role involves assisting staff, consultants and visitors with hardware, software and network issues, ensuring smooth operation of all IT equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver regular and urgent technical support for laptops, smartphones, printers, projectors and other peripherals.
• Diagnose and resolve network and internet performance problems, coordinating with ISPs and suppliers.
• Maintain and patch network devices such as switches, routers and wireless access points.
• Log all support requests in a ticketing system, track progress and close tickets with appropriate documentation.
• Provide conference‑room technical assistance and manage related equipment.
• Assist the Country Asset Administrator with IT inventory updates and decommissioning of obsolete equipment.
• Perform yearly computer maintenance, including cleaning, hardware diagnostics and operating‑system optimisation.
• Support information‑security incident handling and ensure compliance with CIP’s security procedures.

Required profile

• Proactive and solution‑oriented professional with experience in office‑level IT support.
• Strong communication skills to interact with diverse users and external suppliers.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple requests.
