IP Prosecution Manager (Pharma)

About the role

Sun Pharma is seeking an experienced IP Prosecution Manager to lead the intellectual property strategy for both branded and new chemical entity (NCE) portfolios. You will ensure freedom‑to‑operate, manage patent lifecycles, and support licensing activities across global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage IP lifecycle for branded and NCE portfolios, including competition tracking.
• Conduct freedom‑to‑operate (FTO) analyses and validity assessments of blocking patents.
• Supervise patent search, drafting, and prosecution activities.
• Review and negotiate agreements such as CDAs, IITs, MSAs, MTAs for in‑licensing and out‑licensing projects.
• Identify API and formulation opportunities and generate ideas for new projects.
• Perform IP due diligence for in‑licensing and out‑licensing opportunities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Pharmacy or a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or Pharmacology.
• 10–15 years of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and IP portfolio management within the pharmaceutical sector.
• Strong understanding of patent law, especially in the context of pharmaceuticals.
