Inventory Planner

About the role

HomeLane makes interiors easy by delivering finished homes on time. The supply chain must place the right SKU in the right place at the right time, and this role owns that responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast demand and build the demand plan across SKUs and locations, translating sales, design pipeline and seasonality into an executable network plan.
• Determine SKU placement and inventory levels across warehouses and cities to keep lead times short without over‑stocking.
• Maintain zero stockouts for critical and fast‑moving SKUs by setting safety‑stock and reorder logic.
• Reduce working capital by lowering inventory holding and days‑of‑inventory while preserving availability.
• Minimise obsolescence, ageing and dead stock through early‑warning views and write‑off prevention.
• Negotiate vendor lead times and minimum order quantities to lower exposure and improve reliability.
• Define metrics, dashboards and cadence to make inventory health visible and actionable.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in inventory, demand or supply planning, preferably in e‑commerce or quick‑commerce.
• Engineering degree from a tier‑1 institute; postgraduate qualification in supply chain, operations or analytics is a plus.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in demand modelling, safety‑stock, reorder logic, DOI and ageing analysis.
• Proven ability to balance service level against working capital.
• Hands‑on vendor negotiation experience, especially on lead time and MOQ.
• Fluency with spreadsheets and planning tools; experience with ERP or planning systems such as SAP, Oracle or Kinaxis, plus SQL or Power BI.
• Clear, direct communication and ability to work across procurement, operations and design.
