Internal Audit – Renewables

About the role

The Business Audit team is looking for an Internal Audit professional with a focus on renewable energy operations. The role provides independent, objective assurance to senior management and the Audit Committee on the effectiveness of internal controls, governance and risk management across the business and enterprise functions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based internal audits covering financial, operational, compliance and technology areas.
• Assess design and operating effectiveness of controls, identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Prepare detailed audit documentation, risk control matrices, process flows and root‑cause analyses in line with global audit standards.
• Draft audit findings, present reports to senior management and track implementation of action plans.
• Participate in investigations of fraud indicators, revenue leakages, cost escalations and governance failures.
• Support the Business Audit Team Lead and Head in preparing presentations and updates for the Audit Committee.

Required profile

• Proven experience conducting internal audits in complex, multi‑geography environments.
• Strong understanding of risk management, internal control frameworks and governance standards.
• Ability to analyse business processes, develop control matrices and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and delivering actionable recommendations.

Required skills

• Audit methodology and risk‑based testing.
• Development of Risk Control Matrices and process documentation.
• Root‑cause analysis and report writing.
