Instructor/Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Nursing (Full-time)

About the role

Mississippi Christian University is seeking a dedicated Instructor or Assistant Professor to join its School of Nursing. The position focuses on teaching undergraduate nursing students psychiatric nursing concepts in classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments.

Key responsibilities

• Teach psychiatric nursing courses, covering theory, lab work, and clinical practice.
• Supervise and evaluate students during psychiatric clinical placements.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement for psychiatric nursing education.
• Serve as academic advisor and mentor for nursing students.
• Participate in departmental committees, accreditation activities, and faculty governance.
• Engage in scholarly or professional activities appropriate to rank.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing (Doctorate preferred).
• Active, unencumbered RN license in Mississippi or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum two years of recent clinical experience in psychiatric nursing.
• Strong teaching, organizational, and communication abilities.

Required skills
