Injection Molding Maintenance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Mold Maintenance Technician to keep injection molds and tooling in optimal condition at our Sri City manufacturing facility. The role is critical to ensuring reliable, high‑quality production in our injection molding operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all injection molds, including disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly.
• Diagnose and repair mold‑related production issues such as flash, short shots, sticking, and surface defects.
• Carry out in‑house repairs of mold components, including inserts, cores, ejector pins, hot‑runner systems, and cooling circuits.
• Coordinate with external toolmakers for repairs beyond in‑house capability.
• Support mold commissioning, trials, and first‑off inspections for new or repaired tooling.
• Assist process engineers during mold qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Maintain the toolroom and mold storage area to 5S standards.
• Record all maintenance activities in the tool maintenance log and CMMS to meet ISO 13485 requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or ITI in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or Plastics Technology.
• 4–7+ years of experience in mold maintenance or toolroom work, preferably in precision plastics or medical device manufacturing.
• Basic English proficiency and fluency in Telugu and/or Tamil.

Required skills

• Injection mold preventive maintenance.
• Mold disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly.
• Diagnosis of mold defects (flash, short shots, sticking, surface defects).
• Repair of mold components (inserts, cores, ejector pins, hot‑runner systems, cooling circuits).
• Precision fitting, grinding, and hand finishing of mold parts.
• Familiarity with hot‑runner systems, hydraulic/pneumatic mold actions, and cooling system maintenance.
• Ability to read mold assembly drawings and 2D engineering drawings.
