Information Security Engineer

About the role

MicroStrategy is seeking an Information Security Engineer to strengthen our security posture across applications, databases, servers, workstations and operating systems. You will collaborate with network, compliance and operations teams to detect, monitor and remediate vulnerabilities while implementing best‑practice security controls.

Key responsibilities

• Support detection, monitoring and tracking of security vulnerabilities at all technology layers.
• Configure and tune SIEM performance and event data quality to improve log correlation.
• Work with the network team to implement and maintain network access control technologies.
• Configure SOAR tools, scripts, events and playbooks for automated response.
• Guide network and operations teams on security best practices and automation.
• Implement and support solutions such as intrusion detection, log management, data loss prevention, vulnerability management, web content filtering and configuration management.
• Develop operational best‑practice documentation and assist in creating policies, procedures and customer deliverables.
• Research new security products and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with security frameworks and controls (NIST, FedRAMP, HiTRUST, ISO 27001).
• Proven ability to work closely with network, compliance and systems engineering teams.
• Strong analytical skills for vulnerability assessment and log analysis.

Required skills

• Shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell) and programming in Python.
• Regular expressions (regex) proficiency.
• Understanding of REST, SOAP, WSDL, XML and HTTP request methods.
• Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms.
• Knowledge of network access control, intrusion detection, log management, data loss prevention, vulnerability management, web content filtering and configuration management.
