Industry Manager – Biofuels

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking an Industry Manager for its Biofuels business in Pune. The role is responsible for formulating and implementing industry‑specific strategies and sales plans that align with the company’s overall objectives, driving growth and profitability in the biofuels sector.

Key responsibilities

• Build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with customers in the biofuels industry and manage the end‑to‑end customer experience.
• Develop business plans, forecast revenue and profit, and achieve defined performance targets.
• Generate leads through product promotion, customer events and seminars, and convert inquiries into orders by configuring solutions with the field sales team.
• Gather market intelligence on competition and industry trends, and share insights with sales teams to shape competitive strategies.
• Negotiate and close contracts, collaborate with engineering for pre‑ and post‑sales activities, and manage product portfolio launches for the India cluster.

Required profile

• Graduate engineer (chemical, mechanical or related) with a degree or diploma in management (marketing or sales) preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in sales, business development or capital‑goods supply, preferably within the biofuels sector (ethanol, CBG, SAF).
• Proven experience working with distilleries or related process industries across India.
• Team‑player attitude, ability to work in a matrix organisation and willingness to travel frequently.

• Proficiency with CRM tools to support the sales process.
