India Controller – Finance Leader (Bangalore)

About the role

Side is looking for an experienced India Controller to join its finance team in Bangalore. This hands‑on leadership position covers the full spectrum of finance activities, from end‑to‑end accounting to cash‑flow management and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, journal entries and month‑end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules.
• Ensure accurate, timely reporting in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee statutory compliance (income tax, regulatory reporting) and coordinate annual audits.
• Lead finance operations across general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, credit control, petty cash and cash management.
• Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and manage capital asset accounting.
• Partner with FP&A for budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Provide financial insight and decision support to studio heads and business leaders.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, driving performance and efficiency.

Required profile

• Based in Bangalore or able to work full‑time from the Bangalore office.
• Mandatory qualification: CA, CPA, CMA or ICWA.
• Strong end‑to‑end finance and accounting experience, including month‑end close and financial reporting.
• Proven experience managing general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, cash management and credit control.
• Deep knowledge of statutory compliance, audit preparation and external auditor management.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and other global accounting standards.
• Experience handling accounting across multiple regions (US, Europe, Asia) is a plus.
