IB PYP Homeroom Teacher – Primary Years Programme

About the role

Bloomingdale International School in Penamaluru, Vijayawada is seeking a passionate IB PYP Homeroom Teacher to join its primary team. The successful candidate will create inquiry‑driven, child‑centered learning experiences that align with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based lessons that integrate transdisciplinary themes, ATL skills and learner profile attributes.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, confidence and independent thinking.
• Use differentiated instruction and formative/summative assessments to meet diverse learning needs and provide meaningful feedback.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teachers, subject specialists, the PYP Coordinator and school leadership for curriculum planning and reflection.
• Maintain student portfolios, learning documentation, progress records and classroom displays.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress, well‑being and classroom activities.
• Participate actively in school events, assemblies, professional development sessions, field trips and exhibitions.

Required profile

• Graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field; B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
• Prior experience with the IB PYP framework is desirable.
• Strong understanding of inquiry‑based and concept‑driven pedagogy.
• Excellent English communication skills and effective classroom management.
• Willingness to relocate to Vijayawada and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and leadership.
• Reflective, flexible, creative and committed to continuous professional growth.
