Hydromechanical Engineer – Hydropower & Pumped Storage

About the role

The Hydromechanical Engineer will supervise the installation, inspection, testing and commissioning of hydro‑mechanical equipment for hydropower and pumped‑storage projects. You will ensure that all works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards and project schedules while coordinating with the PMC team and contractors on site.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect gates and valves.
• Monitor penstock installation.
• Verify embedded components.
• Witness testing of hydro‑mechanical systems.
• Review welding procedures and quality.
• Monitor painting activities.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Coordinate with contractors to resolve site issues.
• Verify overall quality of installed equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and tests.
• Support commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in hydromechanical engineering, preferably on hydropower or pumped‑storage projects.
• Strong knowledge of hydro‑mechanical equipment such as gates, valves, penstocks and pressure shafts.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent understanding of quality and inspection standards.
• Ability to work on‑site in Panaura, Uttar Pradesh, India.
