Human Resources Manager

About the role

Sundari Silks is seeking a full‑time Human Resources Manager to lead all HR functions on‑site in Chennai. The role will shape people strategies that support the company’s heritage‑driven textile business while fostering a modern, inclusive workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee engagement.
• Develop, update and enforce HR policies in line with Indian labour laws and company standards.
• Coordinate payroll inputs with Finance and ensure accurate, timely processing.
• Handle employee queries, conflict resolution and support a positive work culture.
• Plan workforce needs, manage talent pipelines and support succession planning.
• Drive learning and development initiatives and monitor their impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; HR certifications a plus.
• Proven experience as an HR generalist or manager, preferably in retail, fashion or customer‑facing environments.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour regulations and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and confidentiality skills.
• Ability to work on‑site, collaborate across functions and champion company values.
