Human Resource Representative

About the role

The Human Resource Representative will serve as the primary HR contact for employees at Bechtel’s Chennai office, delivering day‑to‑day HR operations support aligned with business needs. This role partners with senior HR leaders and local management to ensure smooth implementation of HR policies and programs.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HR policies, procedures and programs, evaluating their effectiveness and recommending improvements.
• Provide generalist HR support, advice and counsel to line managers on HR matters.
• Act as the single point of contact for employee queries, coordinating with senior HR business partners and functional specialists.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with local management, senior HR business partners and People Operations colleagues.
• Coordinate wellness initiatives by establishing relationships with hospitals and health providers in Chennai.
• Gather business intelligence from academic and technical institutions to support Bechtel’s competitiveness.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of HR policies and employment legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and management.
• Ability to work independently while aligning with global HR standards.
• Proactive attitude in identifying process improvements.
