Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Housekeeping Manager oversees daily operations of housekeeping, recreation/health club and, where applicable, laundry services at our hotel in Pune. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures guest rooms, public areas and employee zones are clean, well‑maintained and delivered to the highest standards while controlling costs.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise housekeeping staff during each shift, ensuring compliance with policies, standards and SOPs.
• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public spaces, issuing corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with the Front Desk to communicate room status and prepare work assignments for cleaning and turnover.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens and equipment, ordering replenishments to avoid shortages.
• Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses and strive to meet or exceed financial targets.
• Schedule staff according to business demand, track attendance and oversee payroll inputs.
• Provide on‑the‑job training for new attendants and conduct ongoing performance feedback.
• Facilitate employee recognition programs and ensure fair application of hotel policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of housekeeping or related experience, **or** a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, budgeting and inventory control.
• Ability to lead a team, communicate clearly and enforce standards consistently.
