Housekeeper – Hotel Operations (South India)

About the role

The Housekeeper will ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces within the hotel or backpacker hostel meet the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This role supports the overall guest experience by preparing spaces promptly and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, sanitise and prepare guest rooms, lobbies, restaurants, restrooms, receptions and other public areas according to company SOPs.
• Apply appropriate cleaning agents, equipment and supplies while adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Report maintenance and safety issues to the relevant departments without delay.
• Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with cleaning standards and SOPs.
• Coordinate with front‑desk and kitchen teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage operational quality, paying close attention to infrastructure, services and overall service standards.
• Handle and resolve guest escalations or grievances related to cleanliness.

Required profile

• Minimum 12th grade education or a diploma in hospitality.
• At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping within a hotel, hostel, guest house or similar environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and time‑management abilities.
• Willingness to relocate anywhere in Southern India.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining hygiene standards.
