Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

About the role

The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor ensures that guest rooms, public areas and pool facilities meet Marriott’s high quality standards. Working closely with housekeeping, engineering, front office and laundry teams, the supervisor coordinates daily cleaning activities and maintains a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and pool after cleaning to verify quality standards.
• Run sold‑room reports, verify room status, identify discrepancies and prioritize cleaning tasks.
• Update room status for departing guests and communicate changes to the next shift.
• Act as liaison between housekeeping, engineering, front office and laundry to resolve issues.
• Prepare, distribute and adjust room assignments as needed.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.
• Follow safety, security and company policies; report maintenance problems and hazards.
• Welcome guests, address service needs and assist individuals with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant housekeeping experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic computer operations and point‑of‑sale systems.
• Ability to lift ≤ 55 lb unaided and >55 lb with assistance.
• Physical capability to push/pull a loaded housekeeping cart on uneven surfaces.
• Strong verbal communication in clear, professional language.
