Hostel Cleaning Helper

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Hostel Cleaning Helper to keep our hostel environment clean, safe, and welcoming for guests. The role involves daily cleaning, restroom maintenance, surface disinfection, and occasional deep‑cleaning tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks: sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors; dust surfaces, furniture, windowsills, and fixtures.
• Empty and sanitize waste bins, replace liners, and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Maintain restrooms by cleaning and disinfecting toilets, sinks, and fixtures, and replenishing supplies.
• Sanitize high‑touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, and handrails regularly.
• Carry out scheduled deep‑cleaning duties, including carpet cleaning, window washing, and floor stripping/waxing.
• Use cleaning equipment correctly, report malfunctions, and restock supplies as needed.
• Follow health and safety procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and handle chemicals safely.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and collaborate with other staff members.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning protocols.
• Effective time management to complete tasks within assigned periods.
• Reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.
• Ability to work cooperatively with hostel staff and communicate any issues.

Required skills

• Ability to operate vacuums, floor scrubbers, and mops safely.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling.
• Health and safety awareness, including proper use of PPE.
