Horticulture Officer

About the role

The Horticulture Officer will lead the planning, execution and maintenance of landscape projects, ensuring healthy plant growth and aesthetically pleasing green spaces. This role combines technical horticultural expertise with team coordination and administrative oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and execute horticultural projects, including landscape design and plant selection.
• Identify, care for and propagate a wide range of plant species.
• Diagnose and control pests and diseases affecting plants.
• Lead and coordinate activities with horticulture supervisors and gardeners.
• Prepare monthly attendance summaries for payroll processing.
• Maintain comprehensive horticulture records and documentation.
• Develop and monitor horticulture budgets.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Agriculture or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of experience in landscape development and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of horticultural planning, budgeting and record‑keeping.
• Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate field operations.
