Heavy Equipment Operator / Dump Truck Operator

About the role

The Heavy Equipment Operator will safely operate a range of heavy machinery to support construction, maintenance, and utility projects across the park. This full‑time, onsite position involves operating backhoes, excavators, skid steers, loaders, and dump trucks while adhering to company safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Operate track hoes, front loaders, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and dump trucks.
• Excavate, grade, load, and transport dirt, rock, gravel, and debris.
• Assist with installation and repair of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm drain, electrical conduit).
• Perform pre‑operation inspections and routine maintenance (fluid levels, tires/tracks, hydraulic lines).
• Coordinate movements with ground personnel using hand signals, radio, or verbal directions.
• Monitor job sites for safety hazards, use PPE, and follow safe equipment protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of operating hours and maintenance activities.
• Support general labor tasks such as trenching, compaction, debris removal, and site cleanup.

Required profile

• Valid Utah Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements for dump trucks and commercial equipment.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Required skills

• Heavy‑equipment operation (backhoe, excavator, skid steer, loader, dump truck).
• Pre‑operation inspection and routine equipment maintenance.
• Hand‑signal and radio communication for site coordination.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
