Healthcare Support Worker (Band 2)

About the role

We are looking for compassionate Healthcare Support Workers (Band 2) to join our multidisciplinary team in NHS Scotland. In this role you will provide person‑centred care, support nursing staff and help patients with daily living activities while maintaining high standards of safety and dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with washing, dressing and personal hygiene.
• Support adequate nutrition and hydration intake.
• Provide oral care and maintain oral health standards.
• Document all care activities accurately.
• Perform supervised clinical tasks such as catheter care and care of stomas and urostomies.
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Demonstrates caring and compassionate attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of patient dignity, confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Flexibility to work shifts, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.

• Catheter care (under supervision).
• Stoma and urostomy care.
• Oral care techniques.

• Accurate care documentation.
