Head of Logistics, Fulfilment & Distribution

About the role

The Head of Logistics, Fulfilment & Distribution leads the end‑to‑end outbound operation, overseeing everything from goods receipt to delivery at the customer’s door and handling returns. This senior leadership position is responsible for building a multi‑region distribution network, selecting and managing systems, and developing teams that deliver fast, accurate, and cost‑effective service at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Run distribution centres end‑to‑end, managing inbound, put‑away, storage, picking, safety and floor productivity while maintaining high inventory accuracy and low shrinkage.
• Drive fast, accurate order processing across direct‑to‑consumer and marketplace channels, meeting same/next‑day dispatch and order‑accuracy targets.
• Design and operate mid‑mile movement between central warehouses and regional hubs, and manage the last‑mile courier and 3PL stack to ensure on‑time delivery at optimal cost.
• Own returns, RTO and NDR processes, reducing reverse‑logistics costs and improving failed‑delivery resolution.
• Select, implement and optimise Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Order Management System (OMS) to scale operations with volume and new nodes.
• Control the operations cost line, reducing shipping cost per order and cost‑to‑serve while improving service levels using data‑driven dashboards.
• Hire, structure and develop a multi‑disciplinary team including DC managers, inventory controllers, fulfilment leads and transport managers.

Required profile

• 5–12 years of experience in operations, warehousing, fulfilment and logistics within a physical‑product business.
• Proven senior leadership in D2C, e‑commerce, retail or 3PL environments.
• Strong command of warehouse operations, order fulfilment and last‑mile logistics.
• Track record of building and scaling multi‑region distribution networks.
