Head of Electrical Engineering – PMC

About the role

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineering Head – PMC to lead electrical engineering delivery across large‑scale energy and infrastructure programmes in India, covering renewable, conventional and storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering delivery for solar PV, wind, hybrid renewable energy, BESS and conventional projects, including substations and EHV transmission.
• Oversee design of LV/MV/HV/EHV systems, cable sizing, transformer sizing, switchgear selection and drive systems.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables such as single line diagrams, schematics, layouts and power evacuation schemes.
• Direct power system studies including load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination, earthing and grid compliance.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, BIS, IS and CEA standards and implement quality‑assurance processes.
• Lead vendor evaluation, procurement support and cost‑optimization activities.
• Provide technical oversight during construction, testing and commissioning phases.
• Perform techno‑commercial due diligence and feasibility studies for renewable and hybrid energy systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems with 12+ years of experience in energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in HV/EHV substation (AIS/GIS) and power evacuation system design.
• Strong expertise in power system studies and electrical design calculations.
• Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience in PMC, EPC or consultancy environments and knowledge of international standards and grid codes.
