Head - Human Resource - Kurmitar

About the role

The Head of Human Resources will lead all HR functions for the Kurmitar mining operation, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals and compliance with Indian labour regulations. This senior position reports to senior leadership and drives a people‑first culture across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuously improve HR policies and procedures.
• Manage the full employee life‑cycle, from recruitment and induction to performance reviews and off‑boarding.
• Oversee compensation planning, payroll, attendance, leave administration and employee welfare programs.
• Maintain accurate HR records, MIS reporting and statutory compliance under all relevant labour laws.
• Handle employee grievances, conduct counseling and ensure social and ethical compliance.
• Lead training, development and skill‑building initiatives for staff and workers.
• Administer contract management, wage administration and cost‑effective service delivery.
• Foster harmonious industrial relations and negotiate with local stakeholders, village leaders and labour authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 13 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the mining sector.
• Proven track record of successful HR policy implementation and industrial‑relations management.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve 100% statutory compliance.
• Fluent in the local/regional language and comfortable engaging with community leaders.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of HR policies and procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of statutory compliance and Indian labour laws.
• Experience in contract management and wage administration.
• Proven expertise in social and ethical compliance.
