Group Financial Controller

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead Optimas Solutions' Global General Finance Team based in Pune and report to the Head of Internal Accounting in the UK. This senior position is responsible for strengthening financial controls, delivering accurate group reporting, and ensuring compliance with Indian tax and regulatory requirements across a large international organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Global General Finance Support Service (GFSS) and drive month‑end process standardisation.
• Support the finance re‑organisation into distinct Controllership and FP&A teams.
• Consolidate workloads from the UK, France, Turkey and China into the GFSS.
• Expand GFSS capabilities to include full financial reporting and bank covenant reporting.
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes in line with group timelines.
• Ensure accurate reporting under UK GAAP and manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Lead, mentor and build a high‑performance finance team in Pune.
• Maintain compliance with Indian statutory accounts, audits, GST, corporate tax, transfer pricing and withholding taxes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance or accounting teams in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Indian tax regulations, GST and transfer pricing.
• Familiarity with UK GAAP and India GAAP reporting standards.
• Ability to drive process standardisation and continuous improvement.
