Group Chief Accountant

About the role

Nephrocare India, a leading renal care institute in Kolkata, is seeking a Group Chief Accountant to lead its finance function across the organization and its subsidiaries. This full‑time, on‑site position reports to senior management and plays a pivotal role in financial reporting, compliance and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking operations.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and consolidated reports.
• Coordinate statutory audits, regulatory filings and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws.
• Lead the finance team, review reconciliations, journal entries and provide financial insights to senior leadership.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and variance analyses to support strategic planning.
• Identify and implement process improvements and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, banks and other financial stakeholders.

Required profile

• Professional qualification such as CA, CMA or equivalent.
• Several years of senior accounting or finance leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or multi‑entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of applicable accounting standards, taxation and internal control frameworks.
