Ground Support Equipment Engineer – Bangalore

About the role

As a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Engineer, you will design innovative tooling solutions that enable Airbus customers to perform essential maintenance actions and keep their aircraft fleet airworthy. You will be responsible for delivering safe, ergonomic, practical, recyclable, and cost‑effective GSE designs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements and translate them into detailed GSE designs.
• Conduct concept and trade‑off studies, then produce final detailed designs using mechanical engineering principles.
• Integrate designs into the aircraft Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) and generate production drawings and user guides, applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design to Cost (DTC) principles.
• Organise prototyping, physical testing, and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
• Release final GSE deliverables and associated documentation.
• Lead projects end‑to‑end, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and manage forecasting for lead times, costs, and resources.
• Collaborate with Airbus program managers, external manufacturers, OEMs, and customer support teams.
• Leverage AI and modern tools to optimise engineering workflows and drive innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands‑on experience designing and developing tooling within an airline, MRO, or aerospace OEM environment.
• Strong foundation in statics, dynamics, materials, and CAD/DMU design.
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards, tooling regulations, and aircraft maintenance procedures.
• Commercial acumen for forecasting and cost management.
