Global SOX Process Lead

About the role

3M is seeking a Global SOX Process Lead to drive compliance and control excellence across its worldwide operations. You will lead a small team of SOX testers, collaborate with process owners and audit leaders, and ensure the annual SOX program meets its objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team of 3–4 SOX testers across multiple geographies, ensuring timely execution of the annual SOX calendar.
• Support annual scoping for global business processes, strengthen walkthroughs, control design assessments, and testing rigor.
• Drive controls rationalization by improving control descriptions, mapping to financial statement assertions, identifying risks, and assessing deficiencies.
• Partner with process owners, Global SOX, audit leadership, and functional leaders to remediate deficiencies and reinforce ownership of the control framework.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, MBA in Finance, or professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA.
• 8+ years of SOX compliance experience in a multinational environment or public accounting firm.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, COSO, PCAOB auditing standards, Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements, and risk‑control standards.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Experience with Workiva.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
