Geotechnical Manager

About the role

Assystem is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Manager to lead design and delivery of geotechnical solutions for infrastructure projects across sectors such as water, transportation and energy. The role involves managing small projects, supervising junior engineers and ensuring high‑quality technical output.

Key responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical designs, calculations, reports and specifications for foundations, earthworks, slopes, retaining walls and underground excavations.
• Lead small‑scale projects and review work from external consultants on larger, complex assignments.
• Coordinate daily activities of the project team, allocate tasks, monitor progress and provide performance feedback.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals, maintaining client relationships and delivering excellent customer service.

Required profile

• First‑degree engineering or geological qualification with a recognised postgraduate geotechnical credential or doctorate.
• 7 to 12 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering, including project management and supervision of junior staff.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on small projects and to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Geotechnical design of earthworks, slopes, retaining walls and foundations.
• Ground improvement methods and underground structure design.
• Proficiency with finite element software such as PLAXIS.
• Preparation and review of detailed design calculations and technical reports.
• Knowledge of Indian Standards (IS), IRC codes and relevant international design codes.
