General Manager – Marine Personnel

About the role

Wilhelmsen Ship Management is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead its Marine Personnel business in India. Reporting to the Global Head of Marine Personnel, you will shape strategy, drive growth and ensure top‑class service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all Marine Personnel operations in India, developing and executing business strategies, operational procedures and systems.
• Assume full P&L responsibility, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning and cost control.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government authorities, industry bodies and unions.
• Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of quality management systems in line with ISO 9001:2015 and GIMS standards.
• Oversee recruitment, deployment, welfare and training of seafarers, including cadet and junior engineer development programmes.

Required profile

• Master Mariner, Class I (Steam/Motor) Chief Engineer, or a Master’s degree in Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering with proven management capability.
• Senior officer or equivalent managerial experience within the crewing or marine personnel industry.
• Strong leadership, business management and stakeholder management capabilities.
