General Manager - Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

The General Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis will lead the monitoring and reporting of key business parameters for Pantaloons, a leading value‑fashion retailer in India. The role provides real‑time MIS, financial analysis and competition insights to support faster, data‑driven decision making across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the collection, consolidation and reporting of financial and operational data.
• Develop and maintain real‑time MIS dashboards for senior leadership.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Perform competition analysis to identify market trends and strategic opportunities.
• Partner with business units to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Lead and mentor the FP&A team, ensuring high data quality and analytical rigor.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting, preferably in retail or fashion.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize complex data.
• Leadership experience managing a finance team.
• Excellent communication skills to present insights to senior stakeholders.
• Relevant finance or MBA qualification.
