General Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented General Accountant to join our Finance team in Ahmedabad, supporting U.S. business operations. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, excellent English communication, and the flexibility to work across time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, manage accounts payable and maintain related records.
• Perform general ledger account analysis, reconciliation and reporting.
• Follow up on outstanding customer invoices and ensure timely collections (accounts receivable).
• Reconcile bank statements accurately and promptly.
• Apply incoming payments to customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and reconcile inventory month‑end close reports.
• Analyze and consolidate cost data for pricing and profitability assessments.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to U.S. GAAP.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and adapt to flexible work hours.
• Preferred experience with U.S.-based companies and professional certifications such as CMA, MBA, ICWA or CA.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite or SAP.
