GCP Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced GCP Data Engineer to design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform. The successful candidate will work closely with analysts and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high‑performance data solutions that support our data‑driven initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Leverage GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow/Apache Beam and Cloud Composer (Airflow) for data ingestion, transformation and integration.
• Optimise SQL queries for performance and cost efficiency.
• Ensure data quality, governance and security standards are met.
• Collaborate with data analysts and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues in production.
• Implement ETL/ELT processes and automate workflows.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or data analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python (including Pandas) and advanced SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery and large‑scale data processing.
• Knowledge of data modelling (star or snowflake schemas) and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
