About the role

Deccan AI Experts is seeking a versatile Human Resources Generalist on a freelance basis. The role blends strategic HR tasks with day‑to‑day operational support, ideal for candidates who thrive in fast‑moving startup environments and enjoy tackling a variety of challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operational activities and ensure smooth cross‑team collaboration.
• Support the full hiring cycle: post jobs, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and manage onboarding.
• Track and drive cross‑functional projects, monitoring timelines and deliverables.
• Maintain internal documentation, reports, and workflow processes.
• Handle vendor relations, procurement, and logistical needs.
• Assist finance tasks such as invoice tracking, expense monitoring, and basic reporting.
• Identify process inefficiencies and propose productivity improvements.
• Provide flexible, on‑ground support to various departments as business needs evolve.

Required profile

• Experience in a generalist, operations, or multi‑functional role, preferably within a fast‑paced or startup setting.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for coordination across teams and stakeholders.
• Proactive problem‑solver with an ownership mindset.
