Forest Ranger, Guard & Wildlife Guard Positions – Delhi

About the role

The Department of Forests and Wildlife, Government of NCT of Delhi, is recruiting for three categories of forest‑related positions: Forest Ranger, Forest Guard and Wildlife Guard (Game Watcher). These roles are essential for the protection, management and conservation of forest resources and wildlife within the Delhi region.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol forest areas to prevent illegal activities such as poaching, logging and encroachment.
• Monitor wildlife, maintain records of sightings and assist in habitat conservation.
• Implement and enforce forest and wildlife regulations and guidelines.
• Assist in fire prevention, detection and control measures.
• Support community outreach and awareness programmes related to forest and wildlife protection.

Required profile

• Indian citizenship with domicile of Delhi or eligibility as per government rules.
• Educational qualifications as specified for each post (e.g., relevant degree or diploma for Forest Ranger, minimum 10th/12th for Guard positions).
• Physical fitness meeting the standards set for the respective category.
• No criminal record and clean conduct certificate.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of forest and wildlife laws.
• Ability to use standard field equipment (e.g., GPS, binoculars).
• Good observational and reporting skills.

What we offer

• Government salary scales ranging from ₹5,200 to ₹112,400 per month, depending on the post.
