Fire & Safety Officer – Hospital (Mumbai)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Safety Officer to lead fire safety and emergency management for a multi‑speciality hospital in Mumbai. The role involves ensuring compliance with all fire safety regulations, protecting patients, staff and assets, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the hospital’s Fire Safety Management Program.
• Conduct fire risk assessments, hazard identification and HIRA studies.
• Monitor, maintain and test firefighting equipment, fire detection, alarm, hydrant and sprinkler systems.
• Organise and lead fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
• Train hospital personnel on fire safety procedures and emergency response.
• Prepare and update Fire Emergency Response Plans and ensure NOC renewals.
• Coordinate with fire brigade, statutory authorities and support NABH accreditation activities.
• Perform safety audits, incident investigations and compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering, Fire & Safety Engineering or Fire Technology, or a Bachelor’s degree with a diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in fire and safety management, preferably in hospitals or healthcare facilities.
• Valid Fire & Safety Certification from a recognised institute; Disaster Management Training is a plus.
