Financial Controller – Manager/Assistant Manager

About the role

The Financial Controller will partner with multiple departments to ensure costs stay within allocated budgets and financial risks are managed effectively. This position involves both strategic analysis and day‑to‑day financial oversight at Akasa Air’s head office.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor departmental spend, analyse variances against budgets and identify cost inefficiencies.
• Prepare and evaluate business cases for departmental initiatives, including Excel‑based financial modelling and post‑implementation reviews.
• Review contracts and purchase orders to flag financial risks and ensure alignment with approved business cases.
• Collaborate with departments to develop and validate annual budgets, highlighting any gaps or over‑budgeting.
• Act as the single point of contact for finance‑related queries from departments.
• Review and approve policies that have financial impact and support salary structuring for operational staff.

Required profile

• B‑School graduate with at least 2 years of experience (pre‑ or post‑MBA/CA).
• MBA in Finance or Chartered Accountant qualification.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to improve processes and maintain high standards of financial governance.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft PowerPoint for presenting financial analyses.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (knowledge considered an advantage).
