Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance and stakeholder management for our NBFC. The role involves overseeing month‑end close, RBI returns and driving improvements in finance systems and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly and annual book closure under Ind AS, including EIR‑based income recognition, ECL provisioning and fair valuation of investments and loans.
• Prepare standalone and consolidated financial statements, notes and disclosures, and manage statutory, tax and internal audits.
• Handle the full calendar of RBI regulatory returns, ALM, CRAR and Scale‑Based Regulation reporting, and coordinate RBI inspections.
• Develop and maintain internal financial controls, SOPs, automation of reconciliations and dashboards to reduce manual effort.
• Lead and mentor the reporting and accounting team, and act as the primary finance contact for auditors, RBI and senior management.

Required profile

• Prior experience with a Big 4 firm in audit, assurance, financial reporting or advisory.
• Hands‑on experience in Ind AS reporting, ECL provisioning, RBI/NHB regulatory returns and audit coordination.
• Strong knowledge of NBFC accounting, securitisation, lease accounting (Ind AS 116) and fixed‑asset management.
