Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Financial Controller to lead the month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes for a Big 4 firm. The role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with US GAAP, IFRS or Ind AS, maintaining strong accounting governance and collaborating with regional and global teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities on schedule.
• Prepare, review and post journal entries, accruals, pre‑paids, re‑classifications and provisions.
• Perform detailed balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Analyse P&L and balance‑sheet movements, flag unusual variances and provide commentary to management.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports and closing decks.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, SOPs and audit requirements.
• Monitor open items, suspense accounts and aged balances to ensure timely closure.
• Coordinate with regional/global teams to meet close timelines and reporting deliverables.
• Identify and implement improvements to streamline the close process.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• 5‑8 years of controllership or senior accounting experience.
• Proven experience in financial close, reporting and accounting governance.
