Financial Controller

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Financial Controller to lead month‑end close activities, cost accounting and balance‑sheet reconciliation across its global operations. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, drive process improvements and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage preparation and delivery of month‑end close reporting.
• Perform general ledger accounting, balance‑sheet reconciliation and cost record validation.
• Analyse cost trends per cost centre and conduct moderately complex cost audits.
• Ensure all controls and compliance checks are performed and signed off on a periodic basis.
• Provide detailed cost analysis, explain variances and identify cost drivers.
• Develop recommendations and implement process or system changes to reduce risk and improve productivity.
• Standardise and align financial processes across different company codes.

Required profile

• Solid financial education (Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in cost controlling, cost accounting or P&L analysis.
• Self‑motivated, analytical and able to work under high workload.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Adaptable to fast‑changing environments and a strong team player.
• Shipping/transportation industry experience is a plus but not mandatory.
