Financial Controller

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Financial Controller to lead month‑end close, cost accounting and balance‑sheet reconciliation for its global logistics operations. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting, drive cost‑analysis initiatives and support process standardisation across company codes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage preparation and delivery of month‑end close reporting.
• Perform GL accounting, balance‑sheet reconciliation and cost record validation.
• Analyse cost trends per cost centre and conduct moderately complex cost audits.
• Ensure periodic controls and compliance checks are completed and signed off.
• Provide detailed cost variance explanations and timely cost reporting.
• Develop recommendations to improve processes, reduce risk and increase productivity.
• Standardise and align financial processes across different company codes.

Required profile

• Solid financial education – Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in cost controlling, cost accounting or P&L analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset and structured working method.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Ability to adapt to fast‑changing environments and handle high workload periods.
• Team player who fosters collaboration.
• Shipping or transportation industry experience is a plus.
