Financial Controller – India

About the role

This position oversees all financial operations for the India region, including accounting, management accounting, finance control, audits, statutory compliance, cash management, and the protection of company documents, contracts and assets. The role reports directly to the Regional Finance Director – South Asia and provides financial insights and operational support to business leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with FP&A leads across business lines to deliver timely, accurate financial insights and flag financial risks.
• Standardise and streamline financial processes across all legal entities to improve efficiency.
• Coach, guide and develop finance staff to enhance accuracy and ownership.
• Collaborate with Tax, Credit & Collection, and FP&A teams to ensure consistent and reliable reporting.
• Manage cash flow, credit risk and operational expenditure to support business operations.
• Ensure financial policies, procedures and controls align with Group guidelines and audit requirements.
• Oversee the completion and closure of statutory, internal and group audits for all entities.
• Handle end‑to‑end finance operations, including accounting, management accounting and finance control.
• Develop, implement and enforce financial procedures across branches and entities.
• Maintain compliance with laws, proactively flagging financial and compliance risks.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and consolidate statutory financial statements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for statutory audits and other reviews.
• Secure and manage the company’s legal, financial and contractual documentation.
• Take overall responsibility for annual statutory audits and ensure timely filing of statutory reports.

Required profile

• University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, Inter CA or an equivalent recognized credential.
• Prior experience in a Big‑4 accounting firm is an advantage.
• Proven experience in financial controlling, audit coordination and statutory compliance.
• Ability to lead and develop finance teams.
