Financial Controller (Geographic Unit)

About the role

The Financial Controller for the Geographic Unit will lead all financial governance activities across the region, partnering closely with the General Manager and Station Managers. You will ensure transparent financial reporting, cost efficiency, and sustainable profitability while complying with corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process, consolidating inputs from operations, sales, logistics, treasury and support functions, and presenting outcomes to regional and global finance stakeholders.
• Maintain weekly forecasts, including Flash, Next‑Month, Mid‑Month and rolling quarterly forecasts, and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Track country/cluster performance against budget and forecasts, conduct variance analysis on volume, revenue, cost, productivity, yield and margin, and provide decision‑making insights to the GM and station managers.
• Analyze cost drivers across pickup, delivery, middle‑mile, line‑haul and overhead functions, and lead initiatives to improve margin performance and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS reporting requirements, internal policies, and internal control standards; oversee process documentation and continuous improvement.
• Manage month‑end closing, billing accuracy, cost recognition, account reconciliations, collections, payables and audit coordination.
• Lead and develop a team of controllers and analysts, fostering cross‑functional collaboration and standardisation of financial processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance controlling within a multi‑site or geographic organization.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to conduct detailed variance and margin analysis.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS reporting standards and internal control frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in managing finance teams and driving process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills to partner with operational leaders and present financial insights.
